The Calgary Public Library is partnering with First Nations on a $500,000 project devoted to bringing Indigenous art to the new building when it opens this fall.
Organizers hope it will showcase Indigenous art and reflect the stories, history and culture of Treaty 7 and Metis communities.
The first part of the plan is to unveil three permanent art exhibits when the new Central Public Library opens in November. Four more works will be added to the space in the future. Read More via CBC.

A survey carried out by the Brazilian government portal shows that family farming plays a crucial role in the Brazilian economy.
With annual revenue of $55.2 billion, the sector would rank Brazil 8th in the world in food production if the country relied only on family farmers for supply.

Iran’s popular animation show Roobi and Chicken has been running for the last 11 years. Developed by indigenous Tehran-based studio Gonbad Caboud Studios, the animated series is the brain-child of brothers Babak and Behnood, who first shot to fame for their short film Stripy, that competed at the Animation Show of Shows in 2015.
Now with the Annecy nomination, the Iranian brothers have another feather to their cap. Roobi and Chicken is going to the International Animation Film Festival in France that will commence on 11 June 2018. The adventure sport of canyoning has been launched at the Rani waterfall located at Thankre – 6 in southern Dhading from Saturday.
The sport is being launched commercially by Nepal Canyoning Association with help of Thankre rural municipality, according to rural municipality’s Chairman, Ram Kumar Acharya.
